I’ve been accused of having a thing for Curtis Stone.

I can’t watch TLC’s “Take Home Chef” without being teased that I’m tuning in to watch my boyyyyfriend.

    Curtis Stone.jpg

It wouldn’t be so bad if it were true.

    It isn’t.

Sure, Curtis has it all. Tall, blond, nice body, chiseled features, and—and!—an Australian accent. Oh, he can cook. And is willing to go home with you to prove it.

I watch his show because it’s a cute premise, not to watch him. I’ve got a friend who’s gaga for Curtis. But not me. I can’t quite pinpoint why. He’s just not my type.

Which begs the question, What is my type?

    Honestly? I have no clue.

Intelligence is a must. Great with kids (for me there’s nothing sexier than a dad who adores his kids). Loyal, fun, funny, kind, quirky, strong, talented, and good looks help. Then there’s the indefinable—that special something that makes a heart sit up and take notice. For me, the attraction is either there or it isn’t. There’s no in-between.

Not many men meet my high standards—I can count them on one hand (and have fingers to spare). Truth is, I don’t have many celeb crushes because I’m spoiled—there really isn’t a better man than the one I have at home. (Insert awwww here.)

Who are your celebrity crushes? And does your significant other know who they are (and tease you unmercifully)?

Jacoby.jpg I’ll start: Okay, it’s not a full-fledged crush, because I don’t know enough about him, but as a Red Sox fan, right now I’ve taken a shine to Jacoby Ellsbury, outfielder for the team (he can hit, run like the wind, field [most of the time] and is adorable while doing it). I have to wonder if there’s Red Sox fan out there who doesn’t like him (though maybe for different reasons).

So why Jacoby (and no, I am not old enough to be his mother) and not Curtis? Like I said—I have no clue. It’s there or it isn’t. As for my other crushes…I’m not going to say. A girl can only take so much teasing.

      Awwwwwwwwwww!

I’m trying to think if I have a celebrity crush. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen enough TV to know who’s available for crushing.

I think I form crushes on characters — which is why I almost don’t want to find out anything about the actor; they so easily destroy the fantasy!

Nice to see you at the GGKFM Clubhouse, Heather!

    2. Theo has long believed that Heather has very questionable taste in men.

      That is all.

    3. I agree, Diana, I think people develop crushes on characters that celebrities play.

    4. Many, many years ago, when I had a celebrity crush, it was on Robby Benson. He was sweet, talented, cute, all the good things a 13 year-old thinks a boy should be. Now, of course, I think Tom Selleck is the ideal man for me (other than the ideal man I live with, that is). Whenever there’s a Jesse Stone TV movie on, I make time to watch - it’s neat seeing a character I like be played so well by an actor I like.

    5. Diana, so sappy but true! And I do know how lucky I am.

I agree about having crushes on characters. There’s just something about fictional men. :)

Thanks for the welcome–I feel like I should go out and buy some long gloves for the occasion.

    6. Theo, Theo. Don’t make me send you another Elvis-themed present for Christmas…

    7. Will, it does seem as though a lot of actors these days have no character. Or integrity. Or morals. It\’s hard to find the ones that do…

Maybe I shouldn\’t be so judgemental. And stop reading TMZ everyday!

    8. Hi Kate!

I liked Robby Benson, too! LOL. Seems like forever ago. I liked him as the voice of the Beast in Beauty and the Beast, too. I loved Tom Selleck as Magnum but haven’t watched anything with him lately. Are the Jesse Stone movies good?

by Heather on October 16th, 2007 at 12:33 pm

    9. FYI Tom Selleck has re-emerged on Vegas. He’s the new, slightly wacky billionaire casino owner.

    10. Jacoby Ellsbury > Magnum, P.I.

    11. Thanks Heather for sitting in for me today.

I always liked Matthew Fox’s character on Party of Five (Charlie, I think).

    12. Why am I not surprised, Laura. Party of Five.

by Will Bereswill on October 16th, 2007 at 7:30 pm

    13. But then, who am I to talk? I’m watching Dancing With the Stars.

by Will Bereswill on October 17th, 2007 at 7:38 am

    14. Laura, this explains why you like “Lost” so much!

by Heather on October 17th, 2007 at 7:41 am

    15. My latest CC is Cate Blanchett. I don’t know what it is…her ears are huge, her nose is too long, and she’s got kind of weird eyes. But put all the parts together and DAYUM, that woman is hot.
