    Then Cometh the Lion…..

    Tasha Alexander Icon

Apologies for the lack of post last week. I was in London at a hotel that, despite advertising wifi, turned out to have none. And though I love all of you desperately I was not about to lug my laptop around town in search of a place to connect. Instead, I combed through the Imperial War Museum with the astronaut and the fabulous and brilliant Andrew Grant. Then we were off to Paris. And, really, who is going to spend their time in Paris online? Pas moi. We stayed at one of my favorite quirky places, Hotel Marignan, and made the most of our too-short days: Cluny, Louvre, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur. We even bought art.

Art currently housed in the plastic tubes that inadvertently bludgeoned half of Paris yesterday when we were walking to the train station.

Best of all, we drank champagne on Pont Neuf, site of Emily and Colin’s first kiss. Of course, she slapped him the moment she realized she was enjoying it. Perhaps she should have had champagne first?

Now, though, we’re happily ensconced in Normandy, where I’m diligently working on the next book. The setting couldn’t be more perfect—and the Norman countryside is beyond idyllic. I feel almost guilty bringing murder and mayhem, even fictional, to such a place. Stay tuned for pictures……

Meanwhile, I’m feeling out of touch. Being away from the internet will do that. So tell me what is the best thing that’s happened to you so far this summer.

    Have a great weekend!

    xo

    1. Hmmm. A hot of the presses copy of my book arrived yesterday!!! That was very cool.

And I’m spending the summer in NYC (a cool experience). So all is good.

Wish I was housesitting with you.

    2. You’ve gotten a copy of your book, Laura? I’m envious; I haven’t seen mine yet.

Berkley signed two more DIY-books, and I sold “A Cutthroat Business,” so I guess all is good here, too. Except I somehow managed to kill my six-year-old’s brand-new goldfish, so I’m feeling kind of guilty today…:(

    3. Finished the major rewrite/revision/overhaul of my book. That feels really good.

    4. Laura, YAY! Congratulations! Can’t wait to see it myself! And I do wish you were here…….

Jennie, you are completely rocking! So, so happy for you! I’m going to be first in line for a signed copy of Cutthroat Business. Love that book!!!!!!

      Sorry about the fish, though………

Judy, that is fantastic!!!!! It’s such an amazing story; can’t wait to see what you’ve done with it!

      Miss you all!

    5. Enjoying the wind blowing through my hair in my new Volvo C70 Convertible.

      Nothing much writerly going on.

    6. Well, Tasha you’ve succeeded in making me utterly jealous! Paris? Normandy? One of these days!!! I’m spending my summer chasing my children and doing my best to get my book ready for submissions. Curse the query letter!
