    Feeling the love….

    Tasha Alexander Icon

For about a month, I’ve been halfway through writing an Ode to the Oxford English Dictionary (which I really could not adore more), but renovations and moving and revising Emily’s French Adventure (title to come….) has kept me from being able to focus on it.

So instead, it’s going to be poetry Friday. I’ve been in a Rumi kind of mood:

Reason has no way to say
    its love. Only love opens
    that secret.

    If you want
    to be more alive, love
    is the truest health.

True words. Any poems struck a chord with you lately?

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Excellent poem this morning. I’m at home with a baby(!) and a 4 yr. old & there’s plenty o’ love but darn little reason….

    2. Today ten months ago, my father-in-law died. He was a good man, a strong man, a proud man; and dying of smoking-induced emphysema is not a quick or easy way to go. Thus:

The wing trails like a banner in defeat,
No more to use the sky forever but live with
famine and pain a few days.
He is strong and pain is worse to the strong
      incapacity is worse.
No one but death the redeemer will humble that head,
The intrepid readiness, the terrible eyes.
